E-government is all about government agencies working together
to use technology so that they can better provide individuals and
businesses with government services and information. It is not a
massive Information Technology (IT) project. Much of it is about
establishing common standards across government, delivering services
more effectively, and providing ways for agencies to work together
using technology.
E-government is the pragmatic use of the most innovative information
and communication technologies, like the internet, to deliver
efficient and cost effective services, information and knowledge.
It is an unequivocal commitment by decision makers to strengthening
the partnership between the private citizen and the public sector.
E-gov is a practical and permanent realization of government's
vast potential.
